Piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducers (PMUTs) are finding ever-expanding applications in fingerprint sensing (biometrics), autonomous vehicles, medical imaging, non-destructive testing, augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) due to their advantages in size, power, weight and cost. In this session, we will look at some of their design and simulation challenges, and the application of the MEMS Digital Twin to the development of PMUTs and arrays to evaluate and optimize the design.
