Presentation abstract:

AI-driven hyperscale data centres are rapidly increasing the demand for optical technologies that combine higher bandwidth, lower power consumption, compact form factors, and scalable manufacturing. Silicon photonics is a key enabler of this transition, but many optical systems still depend on discrete fibre amplifiers and separate passive photonic control elements, adding size, complexity, and integration challenges.

In this presentation, ALUVIA Photonics will introduce its aluminium oxide photonic integrated circuit platform and integrated optical amplifier engine technology. As the world’s first company commercializing AlOx-based integrated photonics manufacturing, ALUVIA is bringing fibre-class optical gain directly onto photonic chips. The platform combines ultra-low-loss light guiding, broad spectral transparency, high optical power handling, and rare-earth-ion-based on-chip amplification, enabling compact and scalable amplifier engines that can replace bulky discrete fibre amplification approaches.

The presentation will discuss the key capabilities of the AlOx platform, including low-loss passive photonics, integrated rare-earth-doped gain, and the ability to combine amplification with photonic routing and control functionality. It will also highlight how these capabilities open opportunities across datacom, telecom, quantum computing, LiDAR, AR/VR, and bio/medical sensing.
